In the rain by born-palace In the rain by born-palace
1:1 macro of a butterfly. I believe it is a painted lady. I used a flash as well without diffusion and it was on a cord.
full view please!
1:1 means that the butterfly is the same size in real-life as it is on the sensor (35mm). That is a definition of a true-macro.
Please do not just take my images and repost them. If you would like to use them for some reason, please contact me first. I am pretty open for non-commercial use.

sony took over Minolta's legacy not too long ago, but they are fairly new to the dslr industry.

That could very well be the twin of the butterfly in my macro photo: [link]
Crazy!

Nice capture, by the way. :D

Thanks. I'm not sure what kind of butterfly that is in your photo, but they look kinda similar.

I believe it is the same type. I took a lot of photos, but only posted the upside-down one.

Very much alive. She was in a butterfly tent. It also was extremly hot, so they were misting the tent. The butterflies were all sluggish and tired, so taking the shot wasn't as difficult as it could have been in the wild.

Dude, this is crazy-cool. I wish I could get shots up that close, but my camera only has a 3X zoom (it's just a point-and-shoot thing; I'm too poor to get a good camera). Insects look so bizarre when viewed this closely; they all look so creepy. Where is this thing's eyes?!

Excellent shot, though. I'm just easily wierded out.
